This is one of the major problems facing us on weekends: What are we going to do with ourselves for 2 whole days?!?! I have composed a list of things you can do with very little or nothing at all that might help you with your struggle to defeat boredom. At the end of each idea, I have included how long this activity will most likely keep you occupied for.
1. Find a nice curb, maybe out the front of your local shopping centre, and stand on the edge. Close your eyes and prepare yourself, as if you were about to step off a cliff. When your ready, keeping your eyes closed, step off the curb and onto the road, screaming the whole way down. (1-5mins)
2. Wash a tree. Best if you do this on a tree that is not rough. Make your goal to try and wash the tree so well that it shines. (10mins)
3. Try not to think about purple penguins. The more you try not to think about it, the more you think about them because your trying not to. Confusing, right? (1-5mins)
4. Use your secret mind power. Everyone has one. Watch people walk past and try to make them do stuff by thinking about it really hard. For example, for a lady to drop her handbag, or a man to stumble. Remember, practise makes perfect. (Depends on how many people walk past)
5. Prank call people. To make it funny, get the receiver of your call to believe a ridiculous story or make weird noises to test the phone line. To get you started, try calling fast food restaurants complaining that when you opened your meal at home, your burger bun had pink spots all over it. (10-60mins)
6. Stare at the back of someone until they turn around. Pretty self explanatory. (1-5mins)
7. Pick up a dog, or any other small pet, and give it a look at things from your perspective. Because really, how many times has your guinea pig seen your desk, or the top of your fridge? (1-5mins)
8. Look at things from a dog's perspective. Pretty much the same thing as 7, but the other way round. (1-5mins)
9. Sharpen a carrot. Trust me. It will always break whenever it gets close to sharpening. Very frustrating.
10. Make experimental cupcakes. Or cookies. Just add what you think would go into a nice cookie or cupcake, and cook in the oven until you think their cooked. Best done with a friend. (30-60mins)
These are ten quick things that could help you get over your boredom. But don't forget to experiment. Try adding two or more of these together, do them with a friend etc. It makes it a lot more fun.
