Yes, this is often a 'problem', when you first make a blog, you often want people to instantly visit it. But that's not the case. And then, when you search your blog using Google, it doesn't appear. That's the time when everybody becomes confused and annoyed, after all, no one is able to view the posts you worked so long on. But don't worry, I have listed 2 reasons why it might not be showing up, and what you can do to help the problem.
1. The most likely of all the reasons is that you only just created your blog and Google doesn't know about it yet. Quite often it will take up to 6 weeks for GoogleBot, a web crawler, to find it. Think about all those new web sites that are created every day, and one little program has to find and list them all ! It finds them by visiting a web page, clicking on all the links in that page, then clicking all the links on those pages and so on. So if you don't have your blog as a link on any pages at all, it will probably take longer for GoogleBot to find it. Think, what if you ran a search engine, and every day had to go and find all the new web sites, and list them? How hard life would be!
2. Your privacy settings might be set to not allow your blog to be seen as a Google Search. Before assuming anything, check your settings.
If you believe that 1is your problem, but you don't want to wait that long, there's 2 things that might help speed up the process. You could enter your URL into this site: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
If your site is a blog, then you could also enter the URL here: http://blogsearch.google.com/ping
Otherwise, there is nothing more you can do except wait, and write lots of posts. The more posts you have, the chance someone will stumble upon your blog by searching a keyword into Google.
